Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates the tool. That company processes the query and supplies its result. Wyoming County Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the related exchange. It remains within the site's team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may collect routine technical information about that visit:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic information, such as popular Wyoming County record pages and points where visitors leave. A browser can be set to block cookies, though doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
Collected information supports basic operation, troubleshooting, and an understanding of how the reference material is used. It may be used for:
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Finding and correcting technical failures
- Keeping pages available and responsive
- Measuring which material visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Wyoming County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes reference information about official records held by the Wyoming County Sheriff, Clerk of Courts, correctional facility, Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository, and Pennsylvania Megan's Law Public Website. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not turned into a consumer report or a file about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the site's search boxes. Information submitted in a box is governed by that partner's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each company decides how long it keeps data and when it shares data. Visitors should read the applicable partner terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Wyoming County departments, Pennsylvania courts and agencies, legal resources, or outside search providers. Once a visitor follows such a link, the destination's privacy rules apply. Review those rules before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may also use their own systems to follow activity across websites for targeted advertising. That activity is subject to their practices.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Government or law enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks that serve page advertisements
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers that process a visitor's submitted query
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for data collected by the site. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so these measures cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect a minor's personal information. If information from a person under 18 is identified, it may be requested for deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary by residence and applicable law. In Pennsylvania, government record access is addressed by the Right-to-Know Law, 65 P.S. §§ 67.101 through 67.3104, while dissemination of criminal history record information is governed by the Criminal History Record Information Act, 18 Pa.C.S. Chapter 91, including § 9121. Subject to the law that applies, a visitor may:
- Opt out of eligible forms of processing
- Request deletion of eligible data
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Request a copy of information kept about that visitor
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A changed version will appear here with a new effective date, so visitors can review the current terms for handling information.
