Wyoming County Arrest History
An arrest in Wyoming County can begin with the sheriff, Pennsylvania State Police, a borough police department, or another state officer. The arresting agency creates its incident and arrest records. If custody follows, the Wyoming County Correctional Facility creates an admission and booking record. Fingerprints and identifiers can flow to the Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository. A magisterial district judge opens the first judicial docket, and a case held for court later reaches the Clerk of Courts.
These Wyoming County records describe related events, but they are not copies of one another. A police narrative addresses the reported event and probable cause. The booking file records jail intake. The court docket tracks filed charges and results. PATCH assembles qualifying Pennsylvania criminal-history information reported to the state repository. Timing and data gaps can make the channels differ, so compare identity, event date, agency, OTN, docket number, and final disposition.
No Wyoming County Booking Log
Wyoming County publishes no official online booking log, current inmate roster, or mugshot gallery. That absence is a key local fact. Do not replace the missing county source with a commercial arrest site. For a recent custody question, call the Wyoming County Correctional Facility at (570) 836-1717 or (570) 836-7767. Ask whether staff can confirm current custody and what identifier they need.
The official Correctional Facility contact page identifies the local jail and its phone channels.
The facility is at 10 Stark Street, Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Its page supports direct contact, not a public browseable roster.
Looking Up Wyoming County Arrests
Begin with the Wyoming County channel that answers the immediate question, then move to the office that created the needed record. Use a name, event date, incident number, booking number, OTN, or docket number when known. A vague request for “all criminal records” can reach the wrong custodian.
- Call the county facility for recent local custody and search PA SAVIN for covered custody notifications.
- Identify the arresting agency from the complaint or UJS docket, then request its incident or arrest report.
- Search UJS at both Magisterial District and Common Pleas levels for charges, bail, hearings, and disposition.
- Ask the Clerk of Courts for the complaint, affidavit, order, or certified disposition that the web docket does not provide.
- For a complete self-review, mail PSP form SP 4-170; use PATCH only for its separate public Pennsylvania name-check product.
- Submit a specific Right-to-Know request to the creating county office when no direct channel supplies a releasable record.
Under the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law, an agency ordinarily has five business days to grant, deny, or invoke an extension. Criminal investigative records, juvenile material, safety-sensitive data, and personal identifiers can be withheld. Judicial records follow the UJS public-access policy instead of ordinary county RTKL routing.
For a state repository check, PATCH accepts a Pennsylvania name-based request and charges $22 for an ordinary check. That response is not the police narrative, booking file, or complete court file. A person reviewing their own full Pennsylvania record, including nonconvictions, should use the mail-only SP 4-170 Access and Review process, which costs $20 and requires identification. When systems disagree, compare the court disposition and correct the record at its source.
Wyoming County Arrest Agency Routes
The municipality where a Wyoming County event occurred does not always identify the police custodian. Wyoming County has broad PSP coverage. The county District Attorney directs callers to PSP Tunkhannock when a local department is off duty or a municipality lacks police coverage. Read the UJS docket's arresting-agency field before sending a report request.
| Agency | Record Route | Contact |
|---|---|---|
| Wyoming County Sheriff | Sheriff-created arrests, courthouse security, and service records | 1 Courthouse Square; (570) 996-2265 |
| PSP Tunkhannock | State Police incident and arrest records for its coverage area | 5191 SR 6; (570) 836-2141 |
| Tunkhannock Borough Police | Borough incidents handled by that department | Confirm current records access through the borough |
| Factoryville or Nicholson coverage | Use the agency named on the complaint, which may be PSP | Verify the responding agency first |
| Other Commonwealth officers | Fish and Boat, Game Commission, or other agency-specific files | Request from the creating agency |
Specify incident number, date, location, involved person, exact report type, relationship or authorization, and preferred delivery. Ask separately for an incident report, arrest report, crash report, or audio and video because those items are not interchangeable.
Inside a Wyoming County Arrest Record
A Wyoming County arrest file can include a probable-cause account and initial offenses. A booking record begins only if the person is admitted to the county facility. Neither record proves guilt. Look for unique identifiers and the named agency, then match the event to the judicial docket for later charge changes and outcomes.
| Incident Number | The arresting agency's key for its report and related materials. |
|---|---|
| Booking Number | The facility's identifier for one jail admission, when custody occurred. |
| Booking Date and Time | When the person entered intake, not the time guilt was determined. |
| Arresting Agency | The office that made or reported the arrest and holds its report. |
| Initial Charges | Allegations at arrest that may be amended, withdrawn, or replaced. |
| Bail or Commitment | The judicial basis and terms for detention or release. |
| Photo and Fingerprints | Intake identifiers; Wyoming County publishes no online photo gallery. |
| Release Status | Release date or custody change where the facility lawfully confirms it. |
Note: Medical screening, safety classification, and internal housing details are not ordinary public booking-roster fields.
Booking at Wyoming County Prison
After transport to 10 Stark Street, intake can include identity and property inventory, medical and safety screening, a photograph, fingerprint submission, charge and commitment entry, classification, and housing. A judicial officer handles preliminary arraignment and bail. Bail may be monetary, unsecured, release on recognizance, or denied where law allows. The public court docket is the stronger source for current bail terms.
The county prison administration page also explains the local oversight structure.
The Prison Board includes the sheriff, commissioners, president judge, District Attorney, county solicitor, and public defender, yet each office still maintains its own records.

Booking Logs and Recent Arrests
Because there is no Wyoming County web roster, use the jail phone and court search as a paired fallback. The jail may confirm current custody. UJS can show the preliminary docket, bail, next event, and later Common Pleas activity. A very new arrest may not appear in both places at once. Search the MDJ level first, then Common Pleas, and try less narrow name criteria if no result appears.
PA SAVIN can search covered custody and send notifications, but it is not a complete Wyoming County arrest history. A release notification does not state the court outcome. An absent notification does not prove there was no arrest. For the police account, request the report from the agency named on the complaint. For the charging papers, ask the court or Clerk of Courts.
The county sheriff does not advertise a separate records division or local criminal-history certificate. Sheriff-created records route to (570) 996-2265 during posted weekday office hours. County RTKL is a formal fallback, but the county policy sends criminal court records to the clerk rather than the sheriff.
Wyoming County Custody Alerts
PA SAVIN and VINE instructions describe web, phone, text, email, and app notices for release, transfer, or escape.
The service covers participating county jails, state prisons, and state parole events, but it does not replace an arrest report or docket.
No official Wyoming County Sheriff app or dedicated police app was located. PAeDocket is a statewide court tool, and PA SAVIN supplies notification functions. Neither offers an app-only local inmate roster or warrant search. That distinction keeps a custody alert from being mistaken for a full county record.
Wyoming County Custody Systems
Use the Wyoming County jail for local pretrial or short-term custody. State-sentenced people and parolees belong in the PA DOC system. The PA DOC Inmate/Parolee Locator updates daily and searches by last name, optional first name, or inmate number.
The state result can show an institution or supervision status, but it expressly excludes Wyoming County jail detainees.
Federal custody is separate again. The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator covers federal prisoners and some historical federal custody.
A person missing from BOP may still be in county or state custody. Match the prosecuting court before choosing the locator.
Arrests Are Not Convictions
A Wyoming County arrest documents custody or an accusation. A conviction requires a guilty judgment or plea recorded by a court. Wyoming County charges can change between the complaint, formal information, and final disposition. They may be withdrawn, dismissed, resolved through diversion, tried, or reduced. Read each charge row through its outcome rather than treating the booking list as the last word.
| Arrest Record | Conviction Record |
|---|---|
| Created by an arresting agency or jail | Created through the court and maintained by the clerk |
| Shows an allegation, arrest, or intake | Shows a finding of guilt and its disposition |
| Lives with police, sheriff, or the facility | Appears in the court file and qualifying repository data |
| May end in release, no filing, or dismissal | May lead to sentence, appeal, limited access, or expungement |
Note: A Wyoming County arrest is not proof of guilt, and the court docket must be checked for the current outcome.
For one's own full Pennsylvania record, PSP's mail-only SP 4-170 Access and Review process includes nonconvictions and costs $20. PATCH is a separate $22 public name check. If a disposition is missing, correct the source record with the court or agency before asking PSP to update the repository. Detailed court filings and sentence terms are covered through the Wyoming County criminal court cases route.
A recent Wyoming County allegation can also change before it reaches Common Pleas. The police complaint reflects the initial theory, the District Attorney may file a different set of counts, and the court records each count's result. Read withdrawn, dismissed, reduced, and convicted counts separately. Timing explains many gaps between official Wyoming County systems. If the arrest never produced a fingerprint-supported cycle or the final result has not yet been reported, PATCH may differ from the local docket. For a self-audit, compare the Access and Review response with the court file, then ask the office that created an error to correct its source data.
